What we do
Free hosting - We provide free hosting for podcasts ( audio and video
files ). Podcasts on Switchpod are hosted on a series of over 50 servers
distributed throughout the world. We use a Cache system to deliver fast content.
Promotion - We provide various places on the Switchpod main site where
podcasts are advertised and downloaded. We also sponsor various podcasts and
advertise them on various podcast directories like podcastpickle.
Automatic Rss Creation - We provide fast and automatic rss creation. When
audio and video files are uploaded through Switchpod, these files are automaticall y added to
an xml feed, which users using Itunes and other aggregators can use to download these files.
User friendly administration - We provide you complete control over your podcast.
You will be able to edit, delete, and change your files in any way
possible.

Q: Is Switchpod completely
free? A: There are two versions
of switchpod, one that is totally free and one that starts a low as $3 a
month
Q: How are you able to
provide free hosting? A: We put
ads in along with your podcast.
Q: How are the ads placed in my
podcast? A: We put image or audio
ads in along with your podcast. They are completely separate from you podcast.
Your users just get the option to download them
Q: Why should I upgrade to the paid
version? A: With the paid
version, there are no ads. We also included a number of other features,
including a blogging service, no file size upload limit, and the ability to
upload video.
Q: I don't know
how to access my files? A: Go
into your account panel by logging in. Look towards the bottom, it tells you the
location of your feed. (example: www.switchpod.com/users/admin/feed.xml) You can
then give that feed to your listeners to put into their podcast aggregators.
Then their aggregators will download all of your podcasts.
Q: Are you itunes compatible? A: Yes we are itunes
compatible.
